    Beschreibung
     
    Professor Schoder studied business administration at the universities of Munich and Passau and holds an MBA degree. He also has experience of working in Germany, U.S.A., and Japan. His teaching, research and project management focus on economics and management of telecommunications in organizations. He was recently appointed Chair of Electronic Business at WHU.

    His PhD thesis "Successes and Failures of Telematic Services" was published (in German) in 1995. His "Habilitation" (German post-doctoral degree, awarded in 2000) analyses the role of intermediaries in electronic commerce. He lists more than 120 reviewed publications, including articles in leading International and German journals, e.g. Communications of the ACM, International Journal of Technology Management, Information Economics and Policy, informatik spektrum, ZFP Marketing, Zeitschrift für Betriebswirtschaft (ZfB), and Wirtschaftsinformatik. He received several research grants, e.g. from German National Merit Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes), Bonn, Bad Godesberg, Germany. In addition to being nominated for several prizes, he won the Best Paper Award for "Outstanding research efforts in the field of Organizational Theory, Behaviour, & Strategy" granted by North-Eastern Decision Sciences Institute (NEDSI).

    Occasionally, he reviews articles for European Journal of Information Systems, Journal for Information Technology & Tourism, Electronic Markets - the International Journal of Electronic Commerce & Business Media, and for International conferences including HICSS, ICIS, ECIS, AMCIS.
    He is member of various program committees and part of the editorial board of the International Journal "Information Systems and eBusiness Management".

    In addition, Professor Schoder conducted one of Europe’s largest empirical studies into Web-based electronic commerce, known as the Electronic Commerce Enquête. He consulted similar approaches in five European countries. Recently, he was appointed Reviewer for the German Parliament with regard to Electronic Commerce.

    His research emphasis on Electronic Commerce/Electronic Business includes success factors, mass customization, Peer-to-Peer, ubiquitous computing, and new media management.
