Beschreibung
As the executive vice-president in charge of global
operations and a member of the corporate strategy group,
N. Chandrasekaran, or Chandra as he is better known,
is responsible for the formulation and execution of the
company's global strategy.
Chandra is responsible for all of TCS' delivery operations
globally. As part of his responsibilities, he oversees the
company’s sales in Europe (including UK), Middle East,
Africa, India and Latin America. Under his leadership TCS
has entered new markets including China, Latin America
and eastern Europe.
Chandra completed his Masters Degree in Computer
Applications from the Regional Engineering College, Trichy,
Tamil Nadu in 1986 after obtaining a Bachelor of Science in
Applied Science from the Coimbatore Institute of Technology,
Tamil Nadu in 1983.
Since joining TCS in 1987, he has held many critical positions in the company, including establishing and managing the
company’s key client and partner relationships.
He established the E-Business practice as well as global
delivery centres for TCS.
More recently, Chandra has spearheaded the quality initiatives at Asia’s largest IT company. He used his expertise to also
develop an Integrated Quality Management System (iQMS©),
a robust and independent quality model, which has become
the framework for benchmarking quality levels in software
development and maintenance within TCS. This resulted in
TCS becoming the first and only organization in the world to
achieve Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®) and
People Capability Maturity Model (P- CMM®).
Apart from being a director on the board of TCS’ travel and
hospitality BPO subsidiary, AFS, as well as its European, Latin American and Asia-Pacific arms, Chandra is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) as well as the Computer Society of India. He is a chartered member of the British Computer Society and a regular contributor to conferences and seminars on Information Technology around the world.
Mr Chandrasekaran actually sits at TCS´ headquarters in Mumbai.
