Dr. Norbert Fischer

Norbert Fischer has extensive know-how in the areas of procurement and supply chain. He currently holds the position of a director at Deutsche Bank. His role is the global responsibility for purchasing operations. From his former positions he has consulting experiences in a large variety of issues and companies. He was global head of SAP SRM at Capgemini and also member of the leadership team of the Supply Chain Management service line for the central region, heading the SRM / Sourcing & eProcurement group with a total of 50 team members. His industry focus is the financial industry; he also has significant insights into the postal service area, consumer goods area, brewery area, chemicals and the manufacturing area. At Gemini Consulting he led the German B2B marketplaces group and the German manufacturing centre of excellence. Prior to this he was part of the business development team for the distribution industry. Norbert has extensive experience in programme management of major international projects. In management consulting he worked on procurement optimisation, accounts receivable optimisation, general accounting, logistics optimisation, sourcing and purchasing effectiveness, production effectiveness, introduction of self directed work teams, management control systems, project management, compliance, auditing, environmental information systems, market analysis and strategies, and sales force effectiveness. He also led SAP implementations with special focus on SAP SRM. Throughout his career he has given numerous conference presentations and has released several publications.

Norbert also has a very strong environmental and sustainability background. He formerly held a position as an instructor for environmental management at the University of Bayreuth and has written a book on "practical environmental management, a handbook on environmental management for smaller and medium sized businesses".
