Welcome on the Job - Europeans@Siemens in Berlin More than 2300 trainees and dual course students are beginning the new training year at Siemens, and this number also includes 29 young men and women from 13 European countries. In Berlin they are commencing their training as electronics or mechatronics engineers. Currently, almost one in four young people in Europe is unemployed, and in those countries impacted by the euro crisis, such as Greece and Spain, 50 percent of youngsters are not in training or a permanent job. With its pilot project Europeans@Siemens, the company is making a modest contribution to tackling the problem and giving these young people real prospects.
