Wolfgang Finkler holds an MS degree in computer science from the University Saarbrücken, Germany. His background and Ph.D. are in Artificial Intelligence. He worked for nine years as a researcher at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). He focused on intelligent user interfaces, especially language generation in large international projects (e.g., Verbmobil) with partners such as Daimler or Philips and with research labs at Stanford University and the ATR, Japan.
Since 1998, Wolfgang works for Deutsche Börse Systems AG. As a Senior Expert, he is responsible for investigating new technologies and advising clients on their exploitation. He designed, implemented and now operates and supervises the Deutsche Börse inhouse Competitive Intelligence system EXOTIC. Besides establishing this Competitive Intelligence service, he runs knowledge management projects. Wolfgang is an active member of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) and of "Gesellschaft für Wissensmanagement".
