The number of people shopping online in China has increased rapidly in the first half of 2010.
Sales through software e-commerce solutions in China have increased rapidly during the first half of this year.
Noted as being the world's biggest web market, the amount of transactions being made has risen by 60 per cent with more consumers and companies choosing to buy through the net, the China Daily reported.
This growth brings the total sales in the country online to 2.25 trillion yuan (£211 billion), with business to business (B2B) transactions accounting for 2.05 trillion yuan of sales.
"China's B2B market will continue to witness rapid growth in the next few years along with the nation's economic growth and rising e-commerce penetration," the China e-Business Research Center report stated.
The report also stated that there were a total of 420 million Chinese internet users by June 2010, with 130 million of this number shopping online.
British e-commerce use continues to be strong, with the average shopper now spending £71 a month online, according to eCommera.
