Think of how much greener we could all be if we could drastically reduce the billions of invoices that are manually sent every year. If these invoices were instead sent electronically, the amount of trees, water, and power saved on paper manufacturing alone would be staggering. By making it easier for companies to adopt e-invoicing and substantially reduce paper, Basware has been helping companies drive these types of sustainable improvements throughout their supply chains.
A key factor in helping companies achieve environmental benefits is our Open Network, which connects buyers and suppliers through interoperability agreements that we have formed with local and global e-invoicing partners. In addition to improving processes, the Basware Open Network reduces the need to print, post, process, manually key-in, store and dispose of paper invoices.
As a result of our initiatives, Basware has been honored with a Green Supply Chain award from Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine. Award recipients were chosen based on their projects to incorporate sustainability objectives into their own supply chains or to enable sustainability in their customers’ supply chains. We were included, along with other award winners, in the November/December 2010 issue of Supply & Demand Chain Executive.
